Journey to finding inner peace

There comes a point in life were you may realize that your life has become so hectic, stressful, and out of balance that finding peace seems impossible. But it’s not, peace is readily available for you should you choose to take the journey in finding it.

There are no guarantees that you will find complete inner peace right away because sometimes it is a long process, but don’t let that get you down. The goal is to keep trying. A friend of mine once told me about this saying that reminded me of when I first began on my journey to finding inner peace years ago when it was difficult for me to take that first step. “A thousand-mile journey is begun with a single step” Chinese Proverb.

By practicing yoga and meditation one can better understand their own mind and body by first creating an intention for experiencing peace, then by relieving their pain, discomfort, stress, tensions, etc. and eventually with more practice one will feel a sense of deep inner peace. Yoga practices are designed to help the individual feel whole and create a movement towards balance and union in mind, body and spirit. Ancient yoga texts present teachings that include the physical, mental and spiritual dimensions for the practitioner. The physical aspects of yoga are called yoga poses or (asana) and the breathing techniques are called (pranayama) and they are the most popular in the West.
Traditionally, a yoga class or personal practice begins with active poses followed by a brief restorative pose. Some poses work the whole body and others target parts of the body like the heart or lungs. They all produce specific physiological responses that benefit one’s health and reduce the effects of stress-related disease.

When you are ready to learn how to practice yoga, stay tuned here to learn some breathing exercises, yoga poses and meditation to get started on your journey.  Remember that all things will come in time, so be patient with yourself. Namaste  J ( meaning the light in me greets the light in you)

  1. I look forward to more information about this. Meditation, which I did not start doing until a few years ago, opened me up to a new way of being... Inner peace was something I've always strived for and found it through meditation. I have never done Yoga so I will look for more insight from you on this... Thank you for your post!

  2. Thank you for your comment. This is great...be consistent with your meditation practice as all it's benefits are cumulative. The more you meditate the better, as you have already experienced. You can think of yoga as meditation in motion when you try it:)
